This new medical college has been aptly named after Shri Dattaji Meghe, an philanthropist and a social worker who has done pioneer work in the field of education in Maharashtra. He is a visionary and a dedicated man with a strong desire to work for the benefit of unaffordable people of the state. This medical college is an another venture of him, to impart the medical education and deliver standard health care to the needy.
Smt. Shalinitai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre & Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Superspeciality Institute is a 450 bedded hospital attached to this medical college. The hospital is well equipped and has all modern amenities to extend the health care. It is equipped with ICU, ICCU, NICU, PICU and world class operation theatres. The college has finest infrastructure, lecture halls with audio visual aids, modern laboratories, central Library, etc.
